Web Services

A web service allows applications to talk to other applications over HTTP, SMTP, or FTP eliminating the need for human intervention.

Special characteristics of a web service are:

• XML-based
• Loosely coupled
• Coarse-grained
• Ability to be synchronous or asynchronous
• Supports Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs)
• Supports document exchange

In the not so distant future, OpenMLS will offer web services to post listings, query new listings, and manage your listing.

We are currently researching and developing this new and bleeding-edge technology.
