In the past, sharing web content and
attracting new users were
two major problems which both went hand-in-hand. Then syndication came to the
rescue.
Syndication is the sharing of content formatted in a
common and standardized markup language called Rich Site Summary or
RSS. With
this, content aggregators are able to syndicate or distribute headlines, links,
and content descriptions to partner web sites and others aware of the rss
feed.
OpenMLS was the first site on the web to syndicate new real estate
listings published to the site. Newsisfree and Userland are two of our
syndication partners who deliver our real estate to thousands and eventually
millions of user's desktop newsreaders.
The main benefit of syndication is that user's do not
need to visit our site to learn of new listings. Listing titles,
links, and descriptions are automatically pushed or syndicated to users.
