Orlando, FL -- April 5, 2004 -- OpenMLS announced today
a new online reviews service for its listing community. The free service
allows users to post their comments, opinions, and suggestions for other
users to read online. In addition, it provides a simple rating system to
rate individual listings.
"Just like many others, I frequently read a product
review on Amazon.com before purchasing a book or CD, and noticed how many
users would write and share their in-depth opinions on an item." said
Corey Leong, OpenMLS founder and community leader. "The Internet is
making everyone a self-made researcher and with this new service users
will be able to learn more about a property located locally or in another
country," he added. "Online communications is a very important feature
for OpenMLS so adding a service like this only enhances our overall strategy
and service for everybody in the real estate industry."
The online review service was developed with an open source
project called Blojsom created by David Czarnecki. Blojsom is a
lightweight blogging package written in Java and allows users to
publish a Web log or blog. Online blogging has seen increased popularity
especially with college-age computer users.
